'Wie die Nelken' is a late coming-of-age film that deals with the topics of racism, age discrimination and sexuality. The film by director Emine Demir is about two generations of queer women of color, Sherin and her aunt Seriya. While Sherin lives out her pansexuality openly in her circle of friends, Seriya keeps her queerness a guarded secret. Both are more similar than they think, but social heteronormative ideas force them both into a situation where they have to hide their sexual identity from each other.
Moin, hello, selam, مرحباً – I'm Kaya Peters (he/him), a multimedia artist, sound designer, and urbanist based in Berlin.
My work explores the intersections of sound, space, and storytelling, with a focus on memory cultures, postmigrant society, and social movements. Combining critical urbanist perspectives with experimental media techniques, I create immersive experiences that reflect the complexities of identity and collective memory.
I hold master’s degrees in Urbanism (M.Sc.) and Media Art and Design (M.F.A.) from Bauhaus University Weimar. Through my transdisciplinary approach, I aim to spark conversations about belonging, resilience, and transformation in contemporary urban life.
