İÇ İÇE, which means "intertwined" or "interwoven" in Turkish, is a festival for new Anatolian music. İÇ İÇE is the first and only diversely positioned festival for contemporary Anatolian music in Germany.
Since then, the Anatolian region has been a melting pot for diverse cultural currents and musical traditions. Since the 1960s at the latest, these have been unfolding anew in our immediate neighborhood and influencing our everyday life and nightlife, from the underground to pop culture. The core element of the festival is how artists reinterpret cultural fragments of their identities in a personal way and thus make themselves heard in the societies they inhabit.
The İÇ İÇE Festival was founded in Berlin and has now been held there for two years in a row at the Festsaal Kreuzberg.
Moin, hello, selam, مرحباً – I'm Kaya Peters (he/him), a multimedia artist, sound designer, and urbanist based in Berlin.
My work explores the intersections of sound, space, and storytelling, with a focus on memory cultures, postmigrant society, and social movements. Combining critical urbanist perspectives with experimental media techniques, I create immersive experiences that reflect the complexities of identity and collective memory.
I hold master’s degrees in Urbanism (M.Sc.) and Media Art and Design (M.F.A.) from Bauhaus University Weimar. Through my transdisciplinary approach, I aim to spark conversations about belonging, resilience, and transformation in contemporary urban life.
