The corona crisis is putting urban coexistence to the test. Not only social interaction, culture and transport, but also local democracy has been massively affected. Who can still have a say in the crisis? And how is it changing the interaction between administration, politics and civil society? The contributors use case studies to examine the effects of the crisis on the culture of municipal participation. They take an interdisciplinary approach to the question of municipal crisis management and successful governance structures in the context of multiple crises. Their approach of critical urban studies is an invitation to reflection, debate and alternative practice.

Moin, hello, selam, مرحباً – I'm Kaya Peters (he/him), a multimedia artist, sound designer, and urbanist based in Berlin.
My work explores the intersections of sound, space, and storytelling, with a focus on memory cultures, postmigrant society, and social movements. Combining critical urbanist perspectives with experimental media techniques, I create immersive experiences that reflect the complexities of identity and collective memory.
I hold master’s degrees in Urbanism (M.Sc.) and Media Art and Design (M.F.A.) from Bauhaus University Weimar. Through my transdisciplinary approach, I aim to spark conversations about belonging, resilience, and transformation in contemporary urban life.
