Four banners with poems out of the poetry book Soon, the Future of Memory by Anja Saleh (أنيا صالح), that were exhibited during the Fuchsbau Festival 2022 as part of the exhibition Nach:Denkmal.
Anja Saleh is an artist and poet whose work explores memory, memory culture, and the politics of memory in African and European contexts. She translates theoretical research and findings verbally and visually with the aim of raising questions that lead the viewer to question collective memory patterns. Drawing from her own background, Saleh explores the traces and implications of a collective cultural memory that includes both remembering and forgetting. In 2021, her first book of poems, Soon, the Future of Memory (Edition Assemblage), was published.
Moin, hello, selam, مرحباً – I'm Kaya Peters (he/him), a multimedia artist, sound designer, and urbanist based in Berlin.
My work explores the intersections of sound, space, and storytelling, with a focus on memory cultures, postmigrant society, and social movements. Combining critical urbanist perspectives with experimental media techniques, I create immersive experiences that reflect the complexities of identity and collective memory.
I hold master’s degrees in Urbanism (M.Sc.) and Media Art and Design (M.F.A.) from Bauhaus University Weimar. Through my transdisciplinary approach, I aim to spark conversations about belonging, resilience, and transformation in contemporary urban life.
